The next generation of storage robots, which offer maximum storage density and are being introduced to the public for the first time, are setting the standard. New AI-powered software solutions that demonstrated the seamless integration of intelligent technology with sustainability and logistics were on display at the event. Additionally, KNAPP showcased various Open Shuttle autonomous mobile robot models and showed how they integrate with other warehouse robots.
Following the theme of “rise to new dimensions”, KNAPP provides answers to current challenges facing the logistics sector and shows companies how they can reach a new dimension of success – whether it means automating for the first time, expanding an existing fulfillment center or restructuring complex warehouse processes.
A new robot for success in every dimension
The latest addition to KNAPP’s product portfolio is AeroBot, a storage robot system developed with standard building heights in mind that will complement KNAPP’s current portfolio of market-leading automatic storage systems that feature shuttle solutions for highly dynamic storage and picking. The system was created with the idea of simplicity in every dimension, all the way from startup to maintenance. Its standardized components are perfectly attuned to one another, ensuring easy installation and startup. Low space requirements and flexible rack construction options allow the system to be integrated smoothly into both new and existing buildings to maximize storage density. The AeroBot system is ideal as a combined storage and picking solution for e-commerce, micro fulfillment or omnichannel fulfillment in different sectors, as well as for applications in manufacturing and industry.
The bots move both lengthwise and crosswise across the floor and along the racks to find the most efficient routes. Each individual AeroBot works independently of the others and can access each area of the system autonomously, without having to rely on lines for navigation. Additionally, innovative friction drive technology allows the AeroBots to vertically climb the racks.
The SatBot – a small satellite robot located directly on the AeroBot – thanks to the different loading aids, cartons, stock containers, piece goods or bulk goods weighing up to 35 kg (77 lb) are simply stored together in one system.
The size of AeroBot system can be expanded as desired. It seamlessly connects with numerous other technologies from the KNAPP portfolio, such as ergonomic goods-to-person work stations, picking robots, pocket sorter systems and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).
Wide range of AMRs bolsters processes
KNAPP’s various autonomous mobile robots are versatile, easy to integrate and offer maximum flexibility for transporting containers, cartons and pallets in different sectors. They are the answer to the search for flexible, scalable solutions that can quickly be adapted to changing conditions while still providing maximum efficiency. The Open Shuttle portfolio includes several different models designed to serve different logistics processes, including the Open Shuttle 50 and Open Shuttle 100 for transporting containers, cartons and trays, the Open Shuttle Fork for transporting pallets, the Open Shuttle 50 ASG for the electronics industry and the Open Shuttle Boxgrip for picking up containers from and putting them down on flat surfaces. In addition, the portfolio includes KNAPP’s fleet control software, KiSoft FCS, which controls all processes, even in mixed fleets.
The Open Shuttles themselves boast comprehensive standard features as well as add-ons, such as an integrated lifter for different drop-off and pickup heights, state-of-the-art safety systems and special solutions for transporting PCB magazines in electronics factories.

Software for the entire value chain
KNAPP presented their comprehensive software solutions, KiSoft and SAP® by KNAPP, which cover all levels of the value chain and significantly boost efficiency, whether during on-going operation, servicing or maintenance. Another KNAPP innovation that made its debut at LogiMAT was KiSoft Delivery Solution, which was developed to support companies in dynamically planning their extralogistics processes, specifically by providing transport management for the last mile. The result is optimized transport capacity and fewer CO2 emissions, since fewer trucks are on the road and fewer empty miles are driven. With the solution, KNAPP fulfills their last-mile promise to be a steadfast partner for their customers even beyond the warehouse.
