LoeschPack will be exhibiting its LTM-DUO combination line for packaging chocolate bars for the first time in the United Arab Emirates. Hastamat will present the RM-270 vertical flow wrapping machine, featuring a hygienic design for flat bags with a zip closure. “Whether you need a single machine or a comprehensive solution for packaging food or non-food products, the packaging systems from LoeschPack and Hastamat are flexible, efficient, and space-saving, ideal for meeting the unique requirements of our international customers,” says Olaf Piepenbrock, Managing Partner of Hastamat, LoeschPack, and the parent company Piepenbrock.
Combination line instead of stand-alone machines
The LTM-DUO combination line from LoeschPack integrates two-stage fold wrapping and chocolate bar cartoning within a single compact platform. It stands out due to its high degree of automation, low staffing requirements, and small footprint. Its compact design takes up significantly less space than comparable layouts.
“The combination line is an economical and space-efficient alternative to a configuration with two stand-alone machines. The line features a hot melt unit and central control system and can be operated by just one person,“ explains Dr. Ferdinand Schwarzfischer, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at LoeschPack. In the first step, the LTM-DUO fold wrapping machine packs more than 200 chocolate bars per minute in a tightly sealed primary wrap. The outer wrap can be designed as a paper envelope from a stack or reel, or as a cardboard envelope. The CMW cartoning module then fills around 30 display cartons per minute. An integrated buffer reduces waste.
Flexible product packaging with flow packs
The Hastamat RM-270 serves as a versatile solution among vertical flow wrapping machines. In addition to fresh and frozen foods, the machine also packs stick-shaped products, snacks, crackers, cookies, and confectionery. With its modular stainless steel design, it meets the stringent requirements of the food industry. Water and dust protection can be incorporated into the hygienic design. The machine not only features versatility but also delivers outstanding high-speed performance, according to Thomas Bornemann, Director of Sales & Marketing at Hastamat: “The RM-270 is capable of processing up to 250 bags per minute across all format ranges. It accommodates all bag shapes, including recyclable wrapping materials. Users can also incorporate various dosing units and specialized applications.“
