Arla, a European dairy cooperative and global brand, has signed a licensing arrangement with US-based Mondelēz, which owns the Milka brand since 2012.
The new contract enables Arla to distribute and market chocolate milk under the iconic lilac purple Milka brand across Germany, Austria and Poland.
The new Milka chocolate milk range was launched in June 2024 and come in three different pack sizes and three different flavours: Original Chocolate, Caramel and Noisette. The range includes a 750 ml Pure-Pak® carton selected by Arla for both its quality image and environmental credentials.

The iconic Milka flavour in the form of a chocolate milk
With this launch, Arla Foods is expanding its portfolio with one of the Europe’s most popular chocolate brands. Utilizing the strong brand recognition and consumer loyalty of Milka, Arla Foods will leverage its expertise in dairy innovation and quality and secure growth in the very mature chocolate milk category. With this product innovation, consumers will now have the option of indulging in the iconic Milka flavour in the form of a chocolate milk.
Introduced in 1901 by Suchard, Milka is today one of the world’s most beloved and recognisable chocolate brands. Over 150,000 Milka products are sold around the world in over 15 countries. The new chocolate milk range is produced at Arla Foods’ dairy in Esbjerg Denmark.
