Gampack’s commitment for the future of packaging: innovation, sustainability and Strategic Vision

The packaging industry is constantly evolving, driven by technological advancements, an increasing focus on sustainability, and the need to compete in global markets.

In this context, Gampack, an Italian company with an international reach, is an example of how innovation, environmental responsibility, and long-term strategies can be successfully combined.

The company, led by President Mr. Giuseppe Gazzola, has successfully strengthened its presence beyond national borders and shares the vision and projects that are shaping the path to the future.

From developing alternative materials to the integration of advanced technologies, along with a reliable after-sales service, Gampack is preparing to meet tomorrow’s challenges, reaffirming its role as a global partner in the packaging industry and a genuine expression of Italian manufacturing excellence.

di F. S.

What are Gampack’s values? “Since its origins, the company has always regarded human resources and relationships as its most valuable assets—on one hand, its customers, and on the other, its internal staff. This philosophy translates into a constant focus to customer satisfaction and low employee turnover, which are fundamental pillars of our identity,” says Mr. Gazzola. Over the years, we have experienced significant growth and, as time goes on, we continue to expand further. Today, we no longer limit ourselves to providing only secondary and end-of-line packaging systems, but we provide complete lines by also integrating primary packaging. This was one of our major goals. Furthermore, we are broadening our target markets, increasingly orienting ourselves towards an international scale, considering the European market as our starting base.”

Gampack Group is a medium-sized company, with over 120 skilled employees working in an organization capable of offering the market a wide and highly detailed range of solutions. “Our international presence stands out for great flexibility in customer support, with very fast reaction times, essential factors to compete effectively in the global packaging industry.”

Innovation: the Key to Sustainability

Technological development plays a central role for the Italian company. Mr. Giovanni Anzani, Group Commercial Director, remarks that “we are constantly engaged in innovation. We are currently implementing the benefits of artificial intelligence to offer our customers machines and lines equipped with smarter and smarter features that can monitor the plant’s status better, energy consumption, and simplify daily use or maintenance interventions, while enabling faster remote operations. Gampack develops the software for its machines in-house, both for single machines and for complete lines, to control, monitor, and maintain the entire plant in a simple and intuitive way, optimizing time and costs for customers.

“Innovation doesn’t just mean developing software,” explains Mr. Anzani. “Our idea of innovation is a broader and forward-thinking concept that also includes the search for more and more materials and solutions that make production more sustainable, both environmentally and economically.”

“Innovation has allowed Gampack to offer significant advantages to its customers by reducing the footprint with monoblock solutions and, more recently, with a new patented system that further compacts production spaces,” as Mr. Gazzola explains. “We designed our system to place two machines side by side instead of positioning them in a straight line, which allowed us to optimize and reduce the footprint by concentrating the layout into a compact, almost square area. This solution is the key of our vision: combining efficiency, innovation, and sustainability to shape a smarter, customer-oriented productive future.”

Innovation is strongly tied to sustainability. Optimizing operations, reducing space and energy consumption, using sustainable materials, and controlling costs are the commitment to offering better packaging systems. Gampack works to erease or reduce the use of plastic in favor of paper-based materials, with innovative and sustainable packaging solutions such as those featured in our Green Line range.

“Mini Tray, I-Layer, Eco Label, and trays with quarter and half pallets made from recyclable paper are the latest solutions introduced by Gampack to meet the growing demands for sustainability,” explains Mrs. Luna Ughini (Sales/Marketing Division of Gampack). “Today, these proposals not only meet the needs of small-scale consumers, such as families, but also those of large-scale distribution, discount stores, and shopping centers.”

Gampack Green Line range includes the following machines models:

  • The Mini Tray is an example of innovative packaging: a tiny flat blank joins the products by wrapping only their bottom, leaving the rest of the package free from covering. These mini-clusters create uniform groupings, allowing single-portion separation thanks to the pre-cut design, without compromising the graphics.
  • The Eco Label is an adhesive paper label placed midway up the containers to hold them together. This solution allows the creation of multipacks without the use of plastic, making the packaging truly eco-friendly.
  • The I-Layer, applicable, for example, to beverages packaging. The product units are ‘combined’ with glue to a vertical interlayer, which can also be equipped with a handle for transport, further reducing material usage.

But that’s not all: Gampack is already working on developing new technologies and pioneering solutions that will be implemented by 2025.

“Regarding large-scale distribution”, continues Mrs. Luna Ughini: “for discount stores and shopping centers, Gampack offers trays, quarters and half pallets made from recyclable paper, which protect products during transportation and, once they reach their destination, can be directly displayed on shelves, thus facilitating setup operations.”

President Gazzola emphasizes that “the focus on sustainability also extends to the internal production processes. Optimizing workflows, reducing energy consumption through low-energy motors and devices, minimizing material waste, and designing user-friendly machines not only enhance operational efficiency and comfort for operators, but also promote environmental responsibility and an overall better service for customers. We focus our work on many details that, together, improve the company’s global positioning, making Gampack a key reference point for increasingly green and innovative packaging.”

Expansion and Strategies in the Global Market: Efficiency and Digitalization

“How to face the challenges of globalization? Gampack’s strategy is based on a dual approach: a strengthened commercial action and continuous technological development that expands the range of solutions to compete effectively and solidify our presence in international markets,” explains Mr. Giovanni Anzani, illustrating how Gampack, currently focused primarily on the European market, “is expanding its reach towards North, Central, and South America. In this context, our recent participation in the Pack Expo trade fair in Chicago provided a valuable opportunity to forge new partnerships and expand our presence in the American market. At the same time, we are exploring North 1002 to providing customers with a concrete and reliable support system, granting significant added value.”

What are Gampack’s Future Goals and Ambitions? Mr. Gazzola shared the main challenges the company intends to face: “Sustainability is our top priority, and we are persistently investing to achieve it. The future pushes us toward sustainable innovation, which is not an option but a necessary path. What sets us apart are our tailor-made solutions, with cutting-edge technology designed to be increasingly easy to use and efficient in performance, all elements that clearly distinguish us from those who merely offer low-cost products without providing adequate technical support.”

“We don’t want to be simple suppliers,” Mr. Gazzola continues, “but we aim to be trusted partners who assist customers throughout every stage of production. Our added value lies in fostering and cultivating strong relationships based on transparency and collaboration. This mindset, which inspired the creation of Gampack, remains the driving force behind our ongoing success.

Gampack’s ambitious growth path is built on a solid balance between respect for its identity and tradition and a vision constantly oriented toward the future. As a testament to this commitment, Mrs. Elisabetta Gazzola, daughter of co-founder Giuseppe Gazzola, joined the company’s Board of Directors as a member last October. Working in the company since 2005, Elisabetta embodies the continuity of the family tradition, playing a key role in strengthening Gampack’s development. “With these foundations,” concludes President Gazzola, “Gampack is ready to continue its path, facing future challenges with determination and building an increasingly sustainable and innovative future.”
