The innovative design reduces material consumption while preserving the high-quality look and feel expected in the cosmetics market. By integrating advanced manufacturing technologies with a packaging structure optimized for recycling, TRACE helps brands address sustainability goals, improve resource efficiency and deliver a premium consumer experience without compromising performance or visual impact.
The TRACE cosmetic tube received the Silver Award in the “Best Process / Component Innovation” category at the 2026 Tube of the Year Awards, organised by the Tube Council of North America (TCNA).
Manufactured in a Ø50 mm format and composed of a 350 µm metallised polyethylene-based multilayer laminate with EVOH barrier film, TRACE enables true 360° decoration around the tube body while maintaining the mechanical strength and barrier protection required for high-end cosmetic applications. Unlike conventional overlap welding, Decoseam™ uses an internal reinforcement strip to precisely edge-weld the laminate, creating an exceptionally smooth and wrinkle-free seam for superior visual quality.
TRACE also integrates an innovative monomaterial flip-top closure, replacing the traditional multi-part shoulder and cap assembly with a single lightweight component. This design achieves up to 70% weight reduction compared to standard solutions while supporting improved recyclability.
The metallised appearance without the use of aluminium foil or metallised PET

The tube delivers a striking metallised appearance without the use of aluminium foil or metallised PET, helping meet increasingly strict recycling requirements while maintaining strong shelf appeal.
Compatible with tube diameters from 19 mm to 63.5 mm, Decoseam™ technology opens new possibilities for cosmetic tube producers seeking to combine premium decoration, sustainable materials, and high production performance. The technology is compatible with a broad range of laminate structures, including PCR-containing and paper-based materials, supporting the industry’s transition towards more recyclable and resource-efficient packaging solutions.
The Tube of the Year competition recognises innovative and technically advanced tube packaging solutions from across the industry. The 2026 winners were announced during the annual conference in the United States.
