Nut roaster M10000 for a processor of roasted peanuts in Dallas

Clements Nut, a processor of roasted peanuts located near Dallas, has recently installed a new M10000 nut roaster from CPM Wolverine Proctor. The new system replaces a machine that was damaged in a fire and was selected to double the company’s production output.

Installed and commissioned by CPM earlier this year, the new machine is now running at full production capacity, enabling Clements Nut to respond efficiently to customer demand.

Clements Nut Company is a food processing company that produces products including peanut butter and manages the production, scheduling, quality, food safety, and logistics for large-scale manufacturing. It is a subsidiary of Clements Foods Company and the facility in Lewisville, TX has the capability of roasting up to 25 million pounds of peanuts annually, most of which is processed into peanut butter that is sold nationally.

Jack Pattengale is the director of operations at Clements, and he reached out to CPM Wolverine Proctor after his old 1970’s vintage “Proctor” was rendered useless by a fire that fortunately did not injure anyone, but made the equipment impossible to repair.

The old machine was a model M5000, but Clements decided to replace the roaster with the larger model in order to address anticipated production demands. “After the fire, Proctor developed a solution that not only addressed our production needs, but got us up and running as quickly as possible. We needed to work with them and our insurance company on technical and commercial issues, and they were very helpful throughout the entire process. The equipment and service have been great”.

The new roaster consists of industry-leading design features and components including a structural frame and insulated walls made entirely of stainless steel, feed hopper, high-efficiency natural gas burners with safeties, circulation fans controlled by variable speed drive controllers, perforated conveyor with chain-edge drive components, exhaust system, on-machine instrumentation, and PLC-based electrical control system with operator touchscreen for easy control of machine functions. Wolverine Proctor is a leading brand in thermal equipment for the food processing industry, offering turnkey capabilities in nut roasting, cereal production and snack processing lines, with custom-made equipment built for maximum energy efficiency, highest level of sanitation, quick installation, and adaptability.

The processing equipment serves the nut, fruit, vegetable, cereal, snack food, textile, rubber, and tobacco industries.

With more than 200 years of industrial experience, we are at the forefront of the food processing industry, providing industrial dryers, roasters, and conveyor dryers for a wide variety of applications.
