Packaging flow pack solution for fruit in cardboard trays with paper-based film and mesh

As an example of the versatility of their solutions, they will present a Flow Pack packaging application for Conference pears in cardboard trays, using paper-based film with a mesh window. Produced on their Flow Pack FR 200 wrapper, this solution supports the transition towards more sustainable packaging by reducing the use of plastic and facilitating the incorporation of recyclable materials, compostable or paper-based materials.
A new feature this year is the Flex-Set system, which allows the jaws to be adjusted in under a minute, very easily and without the need for tools, enabling FP machines to work with plastic and/or paper films of different thicknesses.
This functionality reduces adjustment times and makes it easier to adapt the machine to different materials or formats, providing greater agility in production environments where flexibility is key.
Packaging fruit and vegetables in recyclable cardboard trays
In the field of traysealing, ULMA Packaging will showcase a solution for packaging fruit and vegetables in recyclable cardboard trays sealed with compostable cellulose film, produced on their traysealer TSA 680 P.
This application makes it possible to optimise the use of materials in tray-sealed products, significantly reducing the presence of plastic without compromising product protection, functionality or presentation.
The TSA 680 P combines high performance and versatility, being able to work with RPET, cardboard or compostable trays, as well as recyclable or compostable lidding films. In this way, it facilitates adaptation to new regulations and market demands without compromising productivity.
Smart equipment for the fruit and vegetable sector

In addition to the packaging solutions, at Fruit Attraction ULMA Packaging will show how technology can help transform production data into faster and more efficient decisions. Their equipment incorporates smart tools to monitor air, gas, electricity and film consumption in real time, providing a clearer view of cost per pack, optimising resources and improving the energy performance of the line.
They will also present solutions that simplify day-to-day production management, such as centralised recipe management, which speeds up format changes and reduces errors, or automatic reporting, which generates PDF reports with key data on performance, OEE, consumption and traceability. All this information can be integrated with systems such as ERP or SCADA and automatically sent to the customer’s FTP server or to MyULMA, facilitating analysis and continuous improvement.
