Delta robots are distinguished by their exceptional positioning precision and capacity to execute incredibly quick motion sequences. The main drives’ servomotors and gearboxes must fulfill certain specifications in order to accomplish this.
The gearboxes must have maximum torsional rigidity and minimal backlash to ensure precision even at high speeds.
Extremely dynamic and precise motion sequences to improve robot’s dynamics
This is where the Neugart NDF110 comes in. Developed specifically for these challenges, it offers an impressive combination of technical innovations that enable extremely dynamic and precise motion sequences. The inertia-reduced clamping system in the gearbox’s input stage enables rapid changes of direction, significantly improving the robot’s dynamics and cycle time. Backlash is limited to <1 arcmin as standard.

The NDF110’s output has also been carefully adapted to optimally meet the specific requirements of a delta robot. With an output ratio of i=5.5, it can transmit very high torques. A specially developed radial shaft seal ensures the shaft is optimally sealed during rapid changes in direction of rotation. Optional features such as food-grade oil lubrication, a stainless steel output shaft and a nickel-plated output flange offer additional customization options.
