AIS implementing an advanced waste heat recovery system from GEA at its two glass manufacturing units – at the greenfield float glass plant in Soniyana, Rajasthan, and at the existing installation in Roorkee, Uttarakhand to have 1.8 MWel capacity for each plant.
By utilizing the waste gases from the furnace and converting the heat transferred from the waste gases into electrical energy, each plant will generate approximately 15,500 MWel per year, resulting in an annual reduction in carbon emissions of approximately 13,000 tons per plant. Another highlight of the greenfield project in the Rajasthan is, it will be utilizing 94% of required power through WHR.
Performance parameters convinced AIS

The waste heat recovery
Waste heat recovery is a key factor in improving overall energy efficiency.
