Case History – Food Industry, wrap-around case packers: AP200W

Zambelli has collaborated with a company, player in the pet food industry, for the design of a new plant within the newly built factory in Serbia.

The customer had two goals:

Build up a production and packaging facility from green field;
Coordinate the Italian machinery suppliers with the local companies that would build the facility and install the ancillaries, electrical system, compressed air, steam, drains, etc.

The customer had to be sure to choose networking and proactive suppliers willing to reach out beyond their supply and exchange all the information needed to build up a plant without bottlenecks along it product flow.

Zambelli has supplied two AP200W – wrap-around case packers – featuring the option of packing two layers of product.
This project has been for Zambelli a team-work experience inspiring more and more collaboration with manufacturers of automatic machines as fillers, labellers and palletizers.
Working at the design of a complete plant, assessing and optimizing every detail not only in your machine but every part of the production line, stretches out the company’s know how and prepares it to bigger goals.
The team-work of different professionals from several companies gave birth to a state-of-the-art high performing plant, totally fulfilling customer’s production needs and full of stories to tell.

The AP200W wrap-around case packer with side loading

automatic case packer suitable to package cartons and flow-packs in wrap-around case. Once drawn from the magazine, blank is placed on a pusher dog chain system that transfers it to the loading, flaps folding and sealing stations with accurately and reliably timed movements all operated by the machine main motor.
Product infeed can collect a wide range of product sizes and thanks to a high speed stacker they can be grouped in multi-tier bundles.
AP200W wrap around case packer features high capacity inclined type blank magazine from which blanks are drawn by suction cups fitted on a swing arm. Case sealing by hot melt glue.
Change-over is very fast thanks to handles on metric rods or handwheels with digital readouts installed on all parts to be moved.
Operator can carry out the format change simply following the procedure and adjusting each part to the set position.
AP200W wrap around case packer is fitted with transparent access doors on all sides allowing fast cleaning and maintenance interventions. Safety switches connected to the emergency circuit immediately stop the machine at access door opening.
