The storage and the process tanks: dosing and monitoring
When it comes to the cylindrical plastic tanks produced by CGK, a distinction is made between storage and process tanks.
Due to their area of application, storage tanks have often to be double-walled and equipped with various safety systems.
When calculating and equipping a tank system for food and beverage, parameters such as material, ambient conditions and chemical resistance as well as specific customer requirements, e.g. pumps, agitators or heating, are taken into account.
In the order for Boss, the most important considerations were the accurate dosing of liquids and reliable monitoring of all process parameters.
This task was particularly challenging because a single facility has to ensure various compositions and dosages of the raw materials. In addition, the CGK solution had to be compatible with the latest Siemens automation and control system Simatic.
Low-maintenance design and compatibility in tank system for food and beverage
The Sitrans P DSIII pressure transmitter and the Sitrans F M MAG electromagnetic flowmeter impressed CGK not just with their number of functions and reliability.
The tank specialist particularly appreciated their low-maintenance design and compatibility with various chemicals. “Siemens looks very closely into the customer projects and CGK as an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) to find the right instrumentation for the application,” notes CGK CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Tijl Charle.
