What is a smart product? Antares Vision and FT System created a smart ecosystem of data and guarantee the Trustparency of the Supply Chain during the exhibition Marca in Bologna
How quality controls and big data can build what is called “a smart product”?
This was one of the topics discussed on Wednesday January 15th at the private label conference and exhibition Marca in Bologna, where Antares Vision (Veronica Ghidotti) co-hosted a speech with FT System (Cristina Attucci) during the event held at the “Blockchain Plaza“.
A smart product is defined as a physical product that is directly linked to its own digital identity.
The digital identity of what is a smart product
This digital identity is accessible via the web and enables applications, experiences and solutions throughout its lifestyle – from product provenance, manufacturing, brand protection and supply chains, right through to e-commerce, retail, customer experience, complete sustainability as well as everything in between.
All these applications generate valuable data that brand owners can utilize to enable new business models and create new added value.
Track & Trace to extract information from every actor of the supply chain

Antares Vision is now combining the quality control experience of FT System with its undeniable knowledge of Track & Trace in order to create an ecosystem that can extract information from every actor of the supply chain and obtain raw material origin certifications, inspection parameters, production data and statistics, product storage conditions as well as shipment tracking details which can all be used for a dynamic and tailored customer experience.
It is now the era of the smart product and the real added value comes from how we utilize all this extra data for each product to become more responsible, more relevant and overall, more engaging.
